The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) is a premier national organisation committed to strengthening India’s higher education ecosystem through innovation in digital pedagogy, inclusive access, and the strategic use of advanced Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). With a mandate to expand the reach, quality, and equity of higher education, CEC plays a pivotal role in advancing learner-centric, technology-enabled education.
Aligned with global best practices in digital and blended learning, CEC addresses India’s diverse educational needs by ensuring that high-quality learning transcends geographical, social, and economic barriers. Through robust digital platforms and impactful audio-visual resources, CEC supports flexible, self-paced, and lifelong learning.
CEC is among the largest repositories of digitised academic content in the country and serves as the National Coordinator both for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on the Ministry of Education’s SWAYAM platform and the SWAYAM Prabha Direct-to-Home (DTH) educational television channels, delivering multidisciplinary, curriculum-aligned content and extending learning opportunities to remote and underserved regions.
CEC’s web portal offers a holistic digital learning ecosystem, enabling learners to explore disciplines such as Natural and Applied, Management and Other Professional Courses, Social Sciences, Art/ Culture/ Literature/ Language, and interdisciplinary areas. The platform hosts a rich repository including Vyas Channel, Undergraduate and Postgraduate MOOCs, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and Short Learning Objects (SLOs), all curated and upgraded to enhance conceptual clarity and skill development.
