To fulfill its goal of providing quality
educational material with equity and efficiency, CEC has
made use of ICT and has decided to electronically reach out
to a large number of students and academic fraternity, this
has resulted in the launch of e-courses on Worldwide basis.

Blend of Broadcast, Simulcast & Webcast for dissemination of
education. Broadcast of 24 x 7 VYAS Higher Education
Channel. Two way live interactive session through EDUSAT
transmission. Webcast of educational programmes, enrichment
documentaries, lectures and Live streaming of Channel .

The Consortium for Educational Communication popularly known as
CEC is one of the Inter University Centres set up by the
University Grants Commission of India. It has been established
with the goal of addressing the needs of Higher Education
through the use of powerful medium of Television alongwith the
appropriate use of emerging Information Communication Technology
(ICT).

Director's Profile
Prof. (Dr.) Rajbir Singh, a double graduate in Law and Science,
holds two masters degrees- one in English and another in Mass
Communication. He is a doctorate in the area of Development
Communication and has authored a book titled ‘Development
Communication: Mass Media and Public Policy’.

Governance
The Apex body of Governance of CEC is Governing Council which
takes decision with regard to the policy matters and larger issues
concerning the development of the Consortium for Educational
Communication. The Governing Council is headed by the chairman,
University Grants Commission as Ex-officio President of the Council.
The executive decision making body is Governing Board and Chairman
of the Governing Board is nominated by the President of the Council
and Director of the Consortium for Educational Communication is the
Member Secretary of the Governing Board.

In order to achieve the main objective of CEC i.e. coordination,
facilitation, overall guidance and direction to the activities of
the Media Centre set up by the UGC in various universalities CEC has
a very small but efficient organization comprising of regular and

CEC EDUSAT Network is engaged in educating students through the
SITs installed at various colleges, Academic Staff colleges and
universities. We, at CEC, are constantly trying to engage
students remotely through our regular transmission from this end
and through migratory teaching end.

LMS
CEC’s Learning Management System (LMS) caters to
educational requirements of the country and world over. The
CEC provides various worldwide e-courses through its Virtual
Learning System (LMS) for the masses across the country and
can be used by universities, colleges and students as a
supplement (add-on) material to the conventional teaching
system. This will certainly help to increase the GER
percentage of the country .

varied subject categories which can be procured in the form
of DVD’s. The request for the procurement of selected
